For as long as I can remember, I've loved everything related to film. From an early age, I fell in love with the art form of cinema, and that passion continued to evolve as I grew older. It wasn't just the entertainment aspect of movies that I enjoyed so much. It was the technical and artistic side. Analyzing and talking about film is something I love to do because it allows me to deepen my understanding of the art and opens a world of interpretation. That's why I love to review movies.
I could never have imagined that this small hobby would grow into what it is today. When I started my small Letterboxd page in the middle of 2020, I could not have imagined that it would eventually grow to over 2,500 followers. When I uploaded my first YouTube video, I never would have even guessed I'd amass over 57,000 views on my channel in the span of 3 years. And now I have the opportunity to bring this love and passion for film to a broadcast audience on FOX19 with a "Movies With Mitchell" segment on Sundays, where I review a new film release every other week.
In my other pursuits, I'm currently studying for a BFA in Film and Media Production at the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music. I'm a member of several film and media organizations such as Film Independent, ASIFA Hollywood, The Online Film and Television Association, and more. I've covered and attended major film festivals such as Sundance, SXSW, CIFF and more. I'm currently developing a short film of my own, and I hope to eventually move to the production side of film one day.
